Our favorite rhythm dance was our hip hop themed, Billie Eilish program. I learned a lot that year! I really hope to do it again soon! Exploring the culture and depth of the dance and the rich history behind it was awesome. It was really fun to train and perform all year.Īnthony: My favorite rhythm dance theme has definitely been tango. The dance style translated really well on the ice, and it was very crowd pleasing. It is a more open theme than usual, so it was really cool seeing how everyone interpreted it differently!Ĭhristina Carreira and Anthony PonomarenkoĬhristina: My favorite rhythm dance style so far has been Latin. We had so much fun with it and it gave us a lot of freedom to explore new styles. Our favorite rhythm dance theme so far was street dance with blues. The year we skated our hip hop/blues rhythm dance was the year we won the World Junior Championships, so it also has a very special place in our hearts and skating career. Ever since we watched Tessa and Scott perform their "Prince" rhythm dance or Piper and Paul perform their "Disco Inferno" rhythm dance in the 2016-17 season, we knew that we really wanted to skate to something that got everyone out of their seats and dancing. Hip hop was a style that we had always wanted to skate to, not only because we loved the choices of music, especially 80s and 90s hip hop. Our favorite theme/style for the rhythm dance that we've performed is hip hop/blues.
